Two domestic Mini/Micro LED projects welcome new progress

Recently, the Mini/Micro LED projects in Weifang, Shandong and Maoming, Guangdong have ushered in new progress.

Inspur Huaguang Mini/Micro LED chip project environmental impact assessment information disclosure

On March 25, Shandong Weifang High-tech Industrial Development Zone released the environmental impact assessment information disclosure of the proposed project for approval of the LED chip production technical transformation project of Shandong Inspur Huaguang Optoelectronics Co., Ltd.

The new generation semiconductor high-definition display chip production line upgrade project is located at No. 9 Jinma Road, Yuqing Community, Xincheng Street, High-tech Zone. This project plans to invest 510 million and be promoted in two phases. A total of more than 300 sets of equipment will be purchased. When the project is completed, Inspur Huaguang will become the top full-color chip manufacturer in China and a supplier of advanced Mini/Micro display solutions.

The first phase of the project invested 330 million yuan to expand production of 10 red-yellow MOCVD units, 2 blue-green MOCVD units, and supporting chips and factory services, achieving an additional annual output value of 350 million yuan, reaching 600 million yuan. The second phase of the project will invest 180 million yuan to expand the production of 5 MOCVD units and supporting equipment and facilities, build a Mini/Micro LED direct display chip production line, and achieve an annual output value of 1 billion yuan.

According to data, Shandong Inspur Huaguang Optoelectronics Co., Ltd. was established in 1999 and is now controlled by Inspur Group. The company is the first high-tech enterprise in China to introduce production-type MOCVD equipment and specializes in the research, development and production of compound semiconductor epitaxial wafers and optoelectronic devices.

Yi Yuanda Mini/Micro LED module production base project started construction

According to the Radio and Television Station of Dianbai District, Maoming, Guangdong, the Dianbai New Materials Industrial Park held a groundbreaking ceremony and started the construction of high-standard factory buildings. Among the first three projects to be settled include the Yiyuanda Mini/Micro LED module production base project.

According to reports, the investment in the Yiyuanda Mini/Micro LED project is 1 billion yuan (200 million yuan for the first phase and 800 million yuan for the second phase). It plans to rent 60,000 square meters of high-standard factory buildings in the new materials industrial park. It mainly produces Mini LED direct display modules, Mini LED backlight modules, Micro LED modules and other products.

According to data, the planned total area of the Dianbai New Materials Industrial Park is 1.55 square kilometers; the planned leading industries include advanced metal materials (aluminum and scandium alloys, scandium targets, titanium and titanium alloys, precious metals, etc.) and electronic special materials (integrated circuits, new displays, PCB material matching), electronic components for information technology, and downstream information equipment.
