China Microcomputer Equipment R&D Center signed a contract with Nanchang for the application of Micro/Mini led equipment

On April 7, according to Nanchang High-tech Zone news, a signing event for the Micro Processing Equipment R&D Center Project of China Micro Semiconductor Equipment (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "China Micro") was held in Nanchang.

It is understood that AMEC will expand its R&D investment in Nanchang High-tech Zone to further promote the development of semiconductor manufacturing-related equipment and processes for the advanced packaging industry, the development of manufacturing equipment and processes related to third-generation semiconductor (silicon carbide and gallium nitride) power devices, the application promotion of MOCVD equipment for Micro LED, and the performance improvement of MOCVD equipment for Mini LED, etc.

According to data, China Micron mainly operates high-end semiconductor and pan-semiconductor equipment such as plasma etching equipment, thin film equipment, and MOCVD equipment. In 2024, China Microelectronics will achieve operating income of 9.065 billion yuan, of which MOCVD equipment sales will be approximately 379 million yuan, LPCVD equipment will achieve the first sales, and annual equipment sales will be approximately 156 million yuan.

In addition to the floor-standing equipment R&D center in Nanchang, AMEC's South China headquarters and product R&D and production base with a total investment of 3 billion yuan also settled in Zengcheng, Guangzhou in March this year. The project is oriented towards large flat panel display equipment and will be extended to other large flat panel micro-processing technologies, such as smart glass, board-level packaging and other emerging fields. The total investment in the first phase of the project is about 1 billion yuan. Construction is planned to start in the first half of this year. After reaching production, the annual output value will be no less than 1 billion yuan.

In addition, AMEC also announced in January this year that it plans to invest 3.05 billion yuan to establish a wholly-owned subsidiary, AMEC Semiconductor Equipment (Chengdu) Co., Ltd., to promote the construction of the southwest headquarters and R&D production base to expand the business scope of integrated circuit equipment and enhance technology research and development capabilities.
