JBD ARTCs image quality engine is commercially launched, helping full-color MicroLED optical waveguide AR glasses open up a new excellent visual experience

As the world's leading MicroLED microdisplay company, JBD recently announced that its independently developed AR optical waveguide glasses system-level image quality engine - ARTCs, has been deeply used in RayNeo's flagship product "Thunderbird X3 Pro", bringing a brand new visual experience to full-color MicroLED optical waveguide AR glasses. ARTCs-WG, the core device of the ARTCs image quality engine, has been successfully implemented in the Thunderbird innovation production line, fully supporting the large-scale mass production of AR glasses. This cooperation not only marks the smooth transition of ARTCs from experimental verification to large-scale application, but also injects new development impetus into the AR near-eye display industry.

Break through technical bottlenecks and start the AR image quality revolution

Optical waveguide virtual image display has long-term display defects such as uneven brightness and color distortion, which seriously affects the AR visual experience. In response to this industry pain point, JBD will launch the industry's first AR optical waveguide image quality correction solution ARTCs and supporting mass production equipment ARTCs-WG in 2024. Through light engine side processing and proprietary image quality algorithms, this system improves the global brightness uniformity of MicroLED optical waveguide AR glasses from "<40% to="">80%", and reduces the color difference ΔE from ">0.1" to "~0.02", effectively eliminating color distortion and graininess, and significantly improving the display quality of the optical waveguide.

While ensuring that the color light waveguide AR glasses achieve a thin and light design, the ARTCs image quality engine further releases the "high brightness" of MicroLED micro-displays "High speed, low power consumption, small size" and other advantages make the picture presentation more natural and vivid, greatly improving the user visual experience.

JBD ARTCs correction effect

ARTCs effectively solves the problem of uneven display of optical waveguides and ensures that each pair of optical waveguide AR glasses can present high-quality images. It not only meets consumers' expectations for a high-quality visual experience, but also breaks through the constraints that restrict colored optical waveguide AR glasses. The technical bottleneck of large-scale application of AR glasses has cleared the key obstacles for the market expansion and popularization of color AR glasses.

Helping terminal smart manufacturing upgrades

Thanks to the substantial innovation in visual experience, ARTCs have gained widespread attention in the industry. Thunderbird Innovation, as a pioneer brand of consumer-grade AR glasses, relies on its outstanding innovation capabilities to take the lead in applying ARTCs image quality engine to consumer-grade full-color MicroLED optical waveguide AR glasses Thunderbird X3 Pro and mass production lines.

Launched in Thunderbird innovative production line During the process, ARTCs image quality engine demonstrated excellent adaptability and efficiency:

One-stop system-level correction: Based on the hardware bottom-level DEMURA, it realizes unified all-optical system correction optimization of MicroLED micro-display and optical waveguide;

Rapid integration of production lines: Provide standardized automated testing and image quality correction processes for AR optical waveguide glasses, seamlessly supporting OEM/ODM and terminal production lines;

Support for large-scale mass production: Provide a strong guarantee for rapid introduction of products to the market.
