1. Look at the product packaging and trademark
This is the simplest and most intuitive way to identify. The outer packaging of genuine LED lights should be marked with information such as rated voltage, voltage range, rated power, as well as brand trademarks and relevant certification marks. The printing quality of the trademark on the outer packaging of genuine LED lamps is good, the font is clear, and it is not easy to fall off. Even if it is wiped with a soft wet cloth, the trademark is still legible. The printing quality of the trademarks of fake and inferior products is poor and the fonts are blurred. The trademarks of some products can be erased with a damp cloth. In addition, there are some inferior products that do not have printed trademarks and related certification marks on the outer packaging at all.
2. Look at the appearance of the lamp
Genuine LED lights use three primary color lamps, and the color of the lamp is white. After covering it with your hands, the color will look whiter. When purchasing, consumers can put multiple LED lamps together for comparison. Products with better consistency in lamp shape and size are generally mass-produced products, and their quality is mostly guaranteed. In addition, you should also check whether there are cracks or looseness in the appearance of the LED lamp, and observe whether the interface has any signs of being pried. If so, it indicates that it is a low-quality product. Genuine LED lights will not become loose or tilted during installation and disassembly.
Consumers can also identify the quality of LED lights through the shell material. The plastic shell of genuine LED lights is made of flame-retardant material and has a rough texture, similar to frosted glass. Inferior products are made of ordinary plastics with smooth and shiny surfaces. Such materials are easy to deform and flammable.
3. Look at the temperature during work
Under working conditions, the temperature of genuine LED lamps will not be too high and can be touched by hand. If the purchased product heats up significantly during operation, it means there is a problem with its quality. In addition, if the light of the LED light flashes, it also indicates that there is a problem with its quality.
4. Look at the electromagnetic interference situation
In my country, electromagnetic compatibility is an important indicator for assessing whether electrical products are qualified. Therefore, when consumers purchase LED lights, they can check whether there are relevant signs that have passed the test on the outer packaging.
When purchasing, consumers can test it with a medium- and short-wave radio. Place the radio near the powered LED light and observe the noise emitted from the radio. The lower the noise, the better the electromagnetic compatibility of the product.
The quality analysis report of LED lighting products and energy-saving lamp products released by the Jiangsu Provincial Quality Supervision Bureau in the first quarter of 2014 shows that the unqualified items of LED lamps are mainly concentrated in electromagnetic compatibility. The electromagnetic compatibility pass rate of the random inspection products was only 60.2%.
