Tianma Microelectronics debuted at the CIIE with a variety of Micro-LED transparent technologies
The 8th China International Import Expo in 2025 has recently opened. As one of the core supporting activities of the Expo, the Shanghai Conference of the Expo with the theme of "Breaking through Difficulties, Coexisting, Resilient Growth" is being held in Shanghai. On November 8th, Tianma Microelectronics unveiled multiple Micro LED transparent technologies and held a professional forum with the theme of "Future Technology Prospects: The Limits and Application Imagination of Micro LED Transparent Technology".
Peng Jianfeng, Vice President of the China Electronic Video Industry Association, delivered an opening speech, stating that the current innovation in display technology is at a critical turning point. Micro LED technology, especially transparent display, as the forefront of this revolution, is challenging the limits of traditional screen definitions and transforming displays from information terminals to interactive interfaces that can deeply integrate with the environment and space. The association will continue to play a role as a bridge and platform, working together with upstream and downstream of the industrial chain for collaborative innovation, strengthening industry standardization construction and intellectual property protection, and jointly promoting China's new display industry to reach new heights.
Yan Qun, a specially appointed professor at Fuzhou University, emphasizes from a global perspective that Micro LED transparent technology is breaking through the physical limits of materials, processes, and integration, reconstructing the "human-machine object" interaction boundary, and giving birth to a new "rich media" ecosystem. The realization of this vision requires close cooperation in the global industrial chain, and is indispensable from academic innovation to application implementation.
Zhao Qifeng, Vice President of Tianma Microelectronics Co., Ltd., delivered a speech on corporate responsibility and strategic layout. He introduced that Tianma has been laying out Micro LED technology since 2017 and has overcome multiple key technological bottlenecks, achieving comprehensive leadership in transparent display core technology. Zhao Qifeng also introduced that Micro LED is leading the "visual revolution". Although the technological path has been opened up, industrialization still needs to solve yield and cost challenges. He called on industry colleagues to work together to promote the formation of a complementary new pattern between Micro LED and LCD, OLED, and seize development opportunities.
Qin Feng, General Manager of Tianma R&D Center, disclosed for the first time the key breakthrough in the company's glass based Micro LED field, deeply analyzing the integration innovation of TFT based glass backplate and Micro LED pixel display. Qin Feng introduced that the interactive revolution of "ubiquitous display" has arrived, and glass based Micro LEDs, with their disruptive characteristics of high transparency, high brightness, and seamless splicing, have bridged the "last mile" from science fiction to reality. He emphasized that display competition has entered the "glass based era", and the industry's first G3.5 generation fully automatic large-scale transfer production line has been fully connected. With the hard power of extremely high bonding yield and domestic production of core materials, this "future technology" has been pushed to the critical point of mass production - any glass medium in the future can be endowed with high-definition display function, and the new scene of "seamless integration of digital and reality" is accelerating.
