Won the Muse Gold Award! Immersive light magic at Vientiane Marina Village

The project was designed by Italian architect Gianni
Ranaulo, who abandoned the traditional European style and replaced it with pure white, light and modern buildings, creating a basic resort atmosphere that returns to nature. The team responsible for the overall lighting design of this project is TS Lighting. They use natural textures and forms as design inspiration and light as the context to inject a layered nighttime light environment into this coastal commercial settlement.
1. Narrative drive: light and shadow tell the story of the island

The lighting design and the project narrative are combined in depth. The design takes "enjoying life slowly" as the main concept, and also incorporates the theme of "Vientiane·Zizaizhou", which tells the story of the navigator who found the island and spent his vacation here. The entire light environment is divided into eight parts, including "Sail in the Clouds", "Blue Beat", "Secrets of the Soul Rock Beach" and "Sunset Feast". The emotions of "dreaming, relaxation and healing" run through it from beginning to end. The cloud IP Miss Dream at the entrance has been specially programmed. At sunset, the color will become as red as the sunset. At night, it will slowly turn out the effect of starlight, completing the process of welcoming guests. to a transition to soothing emotions.

2. Water Street and Rock Street: Two Materials, Two Lights

Water Street and Yan Street are two main commercial pedestrian streets. The lighting design on both sides uses different presentation methods. The Purple-pink sky and orange-yellow water surface are used as the background on Water Street. The lights are hidden in the coconut trees on the shore. The cold-toned light hits the water surface, making the water The surface looks sparkling, the cornice of the building is illuminated by a faint shimmer, and the linear lights on the ground and the high-transparency glass come together to create a feeling like a floating island. The ground lights inserted in the soil illuminate the canopy of the coconut trees with warm light, making the holiday atmosphere stronger.

The Yan Street side has transformed into a rustic and natural atmosphere. The light falls from the gaps in the branches, and the tree shadows sweep over the rocks, creating a quiet feeling on a moonlit night. The halo from the ground dyes the bark of Melaleuca white, and the warm and elegant feeling slowly spreads. The high-color lighting allows the plants to have full colors at night. The layered design with different heights makes the site look rustic during the day and dazzling at night. At the same time, it has the richness of the Mediterranean. Fierce style and poetic feel of Provence.
3. Water show theater: a symphony of water, light and fire

The fountain water show in the central lake area is the main area for evening play. Inspired by the moonlit night and coastline in southern France, the changes in moon phases and the flow of starlight are incorporated into this water show theater. The 8-meter-diameter moon ring is usually hidden underwater, and will rise when it starts to move. The ring is surrounded by water mist, and the lights slowly change with the music, creating a poetic scene of "the moon rising from the sea." The water column swings among the lasers and lights, and water and fire appear together, creating a dramatic nighttime landmark.
4. Indoor business atmosphere: gentle and refined level

The indoor lighting retains the overall sense of quality. The rock-grilled steak restaurant covers the entire store with warm golden soft light, and the warm yellow halo wraps every corner. The chandelier above the dining table scatters soft light, and the light spot falls just on the dinner plate, making the food look more attractive. The auxiliary light strips are hidden in the gaps between the wall and the green plants. The low-saturation warm light is spread out layer by layer, drawing out the lines of the space. It still maintains a soft and hazy feeling, and the contrast between light and dark is just right, creating a dining atmosphere that is both ritualistic and relaxing.

Conclusion
The lighting design of Vientiane Marina Shopping Village uses a complete set of narrative logic to string together the entire light environment, from the floodlighting of the building, to the lighting layout of the landscape, to the lighting inside the shops, creating a poetic interaction between architecture, nature and people.
In 2026, the project won the Muse Design Gold Award, known as the "Oscar of the design industry", for its "immersive narrative design", marking its professional recognition on the international design stage. Light here not only illuminates, but also becomes the storyteller of spatial emotions and a gentle footnote to daily life.
