+ + Duanzhou District has invested more than 50 million yuan to implement a "major overhaul" of all street lamps in Zhaoqing City since last year, and selected 6 indoor lighting demonstration units to simultaneously transform the lamps they use. At present, the two projects have been fully completed, and the newly installed 23,000 LED street lights have made their debut, becoming a beautiful sight on the streets of Zhaoqing at night. Two batches underwent large-scale renovation.

Last year, Duanzhou District, in accordance with the "District Promotion and Application of LED Lighting Products Implementation Plan" and Zhaoqing City's LED lighting product transformation assessment standards, adopted a method of equal payments over six years, with a total investment of more than 50 million yuan, and launched the renovation project for all street lights in the city.

After completing the bidding and confirming the supplier, starting in February last year, Duanzhou District began to transform six demonstration road sections, including Duanzhou 2nd Road, Lantang 2nd and 3rd Road, and Huanggang North Road. The first batch of 1,789 LED street lights was completed. In September, after evaluation and comparison, the best ones were selected. Among the six companies that were shortlisted for supply, Duanzhou District identified three contract supplier companies to be responsible for the subsequent transformation of LED lighting products in the district, and organized construction forces to once again launch a large-scale street lamp renovation project in the urban area.

Through the unremitting efforts of the engineering staff, so far, all street light installation tasks on primary and secondary arterial roads, inner streets and alleys have been completed, and the project has now entered the 6-year tracking and monitoring agency stage of the public bidding renovation project.

According to the person in charge of Duanzhou District Science and Technology Bureau, in addition to being energy-saving and environmentally friendly, the modified LED street lights also have the advantages of high luminous efficiency and long life. Compared with traditional street lights, they can save more than 50% of energy based on original energy consumption. Indoor demonstration site renovation completed simultaneously

While taking the lead in transforming the public lighting field, Duanzhou District also selected six units including the district government compound, Mugang Subdistrict Office, Red Cross Hospital, and Tianjiabing Middle School as indoor lighting demonstration units, and simultaneously implemented transformations on the lamps used by each unit, requiring that the illumination level of indoor lighting products must meet national standards.

For the costs incurred by the units included in the demonstration pilot project to replace LED indoor lamps, Duanzhou District adopts a co-ordinating subsidy of 10% of the total cost of the project, and the remaining part will be paid by the unit in one lump sum, or by paying in installments the electricity bill saved after the transformation. This move greatly mobilizes the enthusiasm of each pilot unit.

It is understood that as of March 14, 2019, all six LED indoor lighting demonstration units have completed the renovation project, with a total of 10,893 lights completed.
