Betting on FMM-free OLED, LG Display chooses evaporation machine

On September 15, according to Korean media ETnews, following YAS, LG Display has recently begun discussions with Sunic System on FLiPP OLED evaporation equipment.

It is reported that traditional FMM OLED requires the use of precision metal masks to evaporate RGB light-emitting devices to precise positions; FLiPP, as an FMM-free solution, uses a photolithography process to pattern RGB pixels, that is, organic light-emitting materials are sequentially formed on the substrate, and then the unnecessary parts are removed through processes such as ultraviolet exposure. LG Display officially stated that FLiPP can achieve FMM-free OLED manufacturing on 8.5-generation mother glass.
