Compared with the mainstream AM drive solution in the industry, the PM passive matrix drive structure is more streamlined and does not need to be equipped with a pixel thin film transistor array, which can significantly reduce the difficulty of drive circuit development and production and manufacturing costs. When paired with a high-precision glass substrate, the minimum line width and line spacing of the product can reach 12 microns, far exceeding the limit of 50 microns for traditional PCB substrates, perfectly meeting the precision arrangement requirements of micro LED chips. At the same time, the excellent thermal conductivity, heat dissipation and thermal stability of the glass substrate can effectively solve the heat dissipation problem of high-power operation of oversized panels and significantly improve the long-term stability of the product.
In fact, Ledman Optoelectronics’ glass-based Micro LED technology layout has already been launched: in 2023, Ledman Optoelectronics will launch the world’s first PM-driven glass-based Micro LED display in conjunction with Vogel Optoelectronics, taking the lead in realizing the leap from laboratory prototype to market demonstration of this technology. After years of process polishing and technology iteration, the company has completed a complete progression from prototype verification, technology optimization to small batch trial production. It has laid out a number of invention patents around core links such as chip arrangement, drive algorithms, splicing calibration, and substrate processing, building a deep technical moat.
At present, Ledman Optoelectronics has achieved a phased industrialization breakthrough and successfully completed the small-batch trial production of PM-driven glass-based Micro LED panels.
